How to Use KuaiLian VPN: From Download to Connected in 5 Minutes

What Is KuaiLian VPN?

KuaiLian VPN (快连VPN) is a Virtual Private Network service designed specifically for overseas Chinese users who want to access Chinese-region content — including Bilibili, iQiyi, Youku, Tencent Video, Douyin, and more — from anywhere in the world. It encrypts your internet traffic and routes it through servers located inside or near mainland China, so streaming platforms see you as a local visitor.

Unlike generic VPNs built for accessing Western content from China, KuaiLian VPN specializes in the reverse direction: connecting people outside China back to Chinese services. The app is available on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS, and requires no advanced networking knowledge to operate.

Step 1: Download KuaiLian VPN

The first step is getting the app onto your device. KuaiLian VPN is available through multiple channels depending on your platform:

• Android: Download the APK directly from our download page. Because KuaiLian is a China-access VPN, it is not listed on the Google Play Store — always download from the official site to avoid fake versions.
• iOS (iPhone / iPad): Available on the Apple App Store. Search "KuaiLian VPN" or use the direct link on our iOS download page.
• Windows: Download the .exe installer from our Windows page and run it with standard permissions.
• macOS: Download the .dmg file from our macOS page, open it, and drag the app to your Applications folder.

Step 2: Install the App

Installation takes under two minutes on all platforms:

1. 1 Android: Tap the downloaded APK file. If prompted, allow installation from unknown sources in your phone's security settings. Tap "Install" and wait for completion.
2. 2 iOS: Tap "Get" on the App Store listing and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password.
3. 3 Windows: Double-click the installer, click "Next" through the setup wizard, and choose your installation directory. The app will launch automatically after installation.
4. 4 macOS: Open the .dmg file, drag KuaiLian VPN to the Applications folder, then launch it from Applications. If macOS shows a security warning, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway."

Step 3: Create an Account or Log In

After opening KuaiLian VPN for the first time, you will be asked to sign in or create a free account. Registration requires only an email address or phone number. A free tier is available that gives you limited bandwidth each month — sufficient to test the service before upgrading.

If you already have an account from a previous device, simply log in with your existing credentials. Your subscription and settings sync automatically across all your devices.

Step 4: Choose the Right Server

KuaiLian VPN offers servers in multiple locations. Choosing the right one makes a significant difference in both speed and what content you can access:

Hong Kong (HK) Nodes

Hong Kong servers offer the fastest speeds for most users outside Asia because of the region's excellent network infrastructure. They work well for Bilibili, Tencent Video, and most other Chinese streaming platforms that recognize HK as a valid region. Recommended as your default choice.

Taiwan (TW) Nodes

Taiwan servers are a great fallback when HK nodes are congested. Many Chinese streaming services serve Taiwan-region content, which is nearly identical to the mainland catalog. Also useful if HK-region content is temporarily unavailable on a particular platform.

Shanghai / Mainland Nodes

For services that strictly require a mainland China IP address — such as some live-streaming features on Douyin, or certain government-affiliated platforms — use the Shanghai or Beijing nodes. These tend to have higher latency for users in North America or Europe but offer the broadest access to mainland-only content.

US / International Nodes

KuaiLian VPN also includes servers in the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Use these when you need to access Western content (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) without switching to a different VPN service.

Step 5: Connect

Once you have selected a server, connecting is a single tap or click:

1. 1 Open KuaiLian VPN and make sure you are logged in.
2. 2 On the home screen, tap the server selector and choose your desired location (e.g., "Hong Kong — HK1").
3. 3 Tap the large "Connect" button.
4. 4 On mobile, approve the VPN permission prompt when asked for the first time — this is a standard Android/iOS security step.
5. 5 Wait 3–5 seconds. A green "Connected" status confirms you are now routing through the selected server.

Step 6: Verify Your IP Address

Before you start streaming, it is good practice to confirm the VPN is working correctly. Visit ipleak.net in your browser while connected. The site will display your visible IP address and its geographic location. If everything is working correctly, you should see a location matching the server you chose (e.g., Hong Kong or Taiwan) rather than your real location.

If you see your real IP address, try the following: disconnect and reconnect, switch to a different server node, or check that no other VPN or proxy is running on your device. If the problem persists, consult our FAQ page.

Step 7: Start Streaming

With the VPN connected and your IP verified, open the Chinese streaming app or website of your choice. Bilibili, iQiyi, Youku, Tencent Video, and Douyin should all detect you as a regional user and grant access to geo-restricted content. No additional configuration is required inside those apps — just log in and enjoy.

If a specific platform still shows a geo-restriction error, try switching from HK to a mainland China node, then refresh the page or restart the streaming app.
