Before installing KuaiLian VPN on a HarmonyOS device, confirm whether the current download page still groups your device under Android or HarmonyOS instructions. Some HarmonyOS phones can use the Android APK flow, but HarmonyOS NEXT, specific models, or managed devices may behave differently. This guide avoids a blanket support claim and focuses on what to verify.
Short answer: installation depends on more than the system name. Check the device model, installer source, system prompt, and current download-page notes.
Four checks before you install
Current download page
Open the download page and confirm that the Android or HarmonyOS notes still apply to your device.
System version
Regular HarmonyOS, HarmonyOS NEXT, and vendor-customized builds may not handle APK files in the same way.
APK source
Avoid APK files reposted in chat groups, cloud drives, or ads. If the source is unclear, stop before installing.
Sideload permission
Grant temporary permission only to the browser or file manager you are using, then turn that permission off after installation.
HarmonyOS NEXT needs extra caution
If your phone identifies itself as HarmonyOS NEXT or rejects the APK, do not keep reinstalling the same file. Return to the download page and check whether a newer platform note or a different route is available. Older screenshots and forum posts may no longer reflect the current system behavior.
If the installer fails
For parse errors, greyed-out install buttons, blocked packages, or crashes after launch, delete the old file, free some storage, and verify the source again. If the app installs but cannot connect, use the connection troubleshooting guide. If the app will not open, check the crash and launch guide.
