When KuaiLian reports a device limit, multi-device conflict, or kicks a phone after you switch handsets, assume the password is correct: open the account device list, sign out unused sessions, then retry on the current device. How many seats you get—and whether tablets/routers count—follows the current plan page and in-app prompts. Wrong password, expired tokens, or clock skew → login guide. This page invents no seat counts, plan prices, node speeds, or unlock claims.
A coworker moved to a new phone. Email and password worked once; the home screen then said the device limit was reached. The old tablet still showed Connected. They reset the password—both sides signed in briefly, then the new phone got kicked again. Signing out a half-year-old Android in the account page fixed it. Not a bad password. The seat was full.
Login screen shows wrong password, auth failed, or invalid token → login / auth failed. Logged in, no device-limit prompt, but status flips Connected/Connecting → reconnect loop / drops. Foreground connects, drops on lock or app switch → background disconnect / lock-screen drop. Hotel Wi-Fi stuck on a portal → hotel Wi-Fi / captive portal. This page only covers device caps and multi-device session eviction.
Device limit vs login failure vs reconnect loop
- Device limit / multi-device kick: Account is recognized, but you see a device-cap prompt, must sign out other devices, or another active endpoint gets kicked
- Login / auth failed: Password, subscription check, device clock, or installer source blocks account entry → login guide
- Reconnect loop: Seats are fine; Connected appeared then flashes → reconnect guide—do not keep wiping the device list
Copy the prompt text: “device limit / too many devices / sign out others” stays here; “wrong password / auth failed” goes to the login article so password resets and device cleanup stay separate.
Confirm it is a seat or session kick
Goal: confirm occupancy—not peak download speed, and not “upgrading the plan must make nodes faster.”
- Does the same account still show Signed in / Connected on an old phone, tablet, or PC?
- Does the new device wording mention devices, sessions, limits, or signing out others (current copy wins)?
- Can you open the account page or in-app device list and see multiple device names / last-active times?
- After signing out one unused device, can the new phone log in or stay connected?
If you never reach the account and stay stuck on password/auth, leave this page for login troubleshooting. If the list opens and the prompt looks like a cap, clear devices next.
New phone kicked—contrast steps
Switch day classic: old phone still holds a session; new login hits the cap or evicts the old one. Change one class of action at a time.
1. Sign out on the old device
If you still have it, use Sign out / Disconnect and exit in KuaiLian—do not only swipe the app away.
2. Same login method on the new phone
Email / phone / third-party entry must match registration; wrong entry looks like auth failure—see the login guide.
3. Read whether the prompt names devices
Device-cap wording → device list first, not a streak of password changes.
4. Old phone wiped or lost
Remote sign-out from a device or web account you can still open; then retry on the new phone.
A kick is not a dead node and not automatic plan expiry. Subscription validity still follows the account page; failed subscription checks belong in the login article—do not “fix” payment inside the device list.
How to clear the device list
Menus may say Device management, Logged-in devices, Sessions, and so on—current client wins. Cleanup rules:
- Sign out only unused phones, tablets, or PCs; keep the daily driver until seats free up
- Remove one device, then check the new phone—avoid wiping everything so you lose track of what still matters
- If the old install stays open after remote sign-out, it may reclaim a seat—exit or remove unused installs there too
- Clearing the list does not replace reinstall and does not promise speed or streaming unlocks
No device menu? Check the download page for an outdated or wrong-platform installer; old builds may hide the entry. Install paths: Guides.
How many devices at once—follow the plan page
This article does not hard-code a seat number. Plan tiers, concurrent vs historical binds, and whether TV/router each take a slot all change.
- Open the current plan page or account entitlements and read the device lines
- Prefer the in-app limit wording over numbers in old third-party tips
- No prices here, no claim that more seats equal speed or unlocks
If the plan page shows free seats but the app still reports a cap, look for ghost sessions (old phone never exited, dual installs after restore). Long mismatch: mask the account, save screenshots, then check FAQ or in-app support.
Still broken after cleanup: auth, reconnect, connect fail
- Still password / auth failed → login troubleshooting (clock, subscription, installer)—not another device wipe
- Device prompt gone, but Connected flips or drops → reconnect loop
- Public Wi-Fi stuck on a portal → hotel Wi-Fi / captive portal—unrelated to seat count
- Logged in, seats fine, Connect stays failed → connection-style guides; do not treat device sign-out as a “node fix”
- Foreground connects, drops only on lock or app switch → background disconnect / lock-screen drop (battery whitelist)—not a seat-count issue
Contrast only shows whether a seat freed—not censorship resistance, streaming unlocks, or “country X is faster on multi-device.”
Still stuck: what to record for FAQ / download
If the cap or kicks continue, collect this before FAQ or in-app support:
- Exact prompt (device limit / kicked / sign out others)
- How many devices, which platforms, which ones you already signed out
- Plan-page device wording screenshot (mask email and order IDs)
- KuaiLian version; whether you just switched phones, wiped, or restored a backup
Menus disagree with old tutorials: verify the current package on the download page. Reinstall can clear local glitches; it does not add seats and does not promise unlocks. Steps: Guides.
